(CNN) - Don't expect to see Herman Cain cut a rug on national television.
The former Republican presidential candidate was asked to be on "Dancing With the Stars," but turned down the offer.
That's according to the Atlanta Journal Constitution.
Cain's executive assistant told the paper "He can't dance in an eight-count. He can only dance in a nine-count."
That's a reference to his 9-9-9 tax plan.
Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., says she also won't be doing the cha-cha anytime soon on television.
Bachmann says, despite rumors that the show "Dancing with the Stars" tapped her for its next season, she is not joining the show.
The Minnesota congresswoman says she is focused on creating more private sector jobs and cutting government spending, even though she has a lifelong love of ballroom dancing.
The full cast for the season will be revealed February 29th.
