Fashion and film icon Taylor 1932-2011

Elizabeth Taylor changed the way we look at the female figure. In many ways, her daily decisions made in her closet, donning this hat or those shoes or wearing this lipstick changed the way generations dress, look and feel about themselves.

Taylor was by all definitions a real woman. She had curves, cleavage and class. And she was proud of all those things. It was evident in the way she carried herself and what she wore.

Known for her love of diamonds, plunging necklines and heavy eyeliner, Liz Taylor was a rock in the foundation of what people think of as a true beauty.

And she was all of those things.

Whether she was wearing fur and diamonds at a gala or in a safari outfit in the desert, Taylor never failed to look effortlessly put together and alluring.

Her trademark style elements we know see even now—the dramatic eyes, the heavy, natural eyebrows and splashes of vibrant color in her wardrobe.

See Polyvore for sets who give Liz Taylor love.

Taylor touched a lot of lives throughout her life, through her films, her friends or her charities. And not least of all fashion, making a long lasting mark on classic style. She helped women who may not fit the “model” feel beautiful, making her clothes and perfumes accessible to real people.

You can see her personal style evolve as she grew older, from sweetheart dresses to flowing gauzy caftans.
