(CNN) - Twitter is investigating the breach of thousands of accounts. The good news? Most of them appear to be spam handles.

A hacking news and activist hub called Airdemon message online saying 55,000 accounts were compromised.

It also posted a link to a pasting site with what it said were the user names and passwords for those accounts.

Twitter says it is looking into the situation and pushed out password resets to impacted accounts.
