DAYTON, OH (WDTN-WBDT) - This Sunday February 26, Polk Grove United Church of Christ is one of many churches and organizations that will host  the 22nd Annual Day of Caring Pancake Brunch to help the needy in the local community.

In addition to the pancake brunch, Polk Grove will have a silent auction of sports and Hollywood memorabilia. The brunch will be open from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm and the silent auction begins at noon.

Ticket prices for the brunch are $6.00 for adults and $4.00 for seniors and children under 12. The price of the ticket has remained the same over the years so as to allow more of the general population to participate.

Established in 1991, Day of Caring is a grass root, non-profit, 501 C3 organization made up of volunteers committed to increasing personal awareness and involvement toward confronting the ever-increasing national plight of hunger and homelessness.

Not only have the number of brunch locations increased but the number of cities, towns, and counties have also grown. In 2011, the Day of Caring will hold brunches in Clinton, Greene, Miami, and Hamilton counties as well as their hub county of Montgomery, City of Dayton and back again in Cincinnati and Richmond, Indiana.

This year the Day of Caring hopes to serve over 6,000 brunches at 55 sites and raise over $35,000.

For site locations and more information visit, www.dayofcaring.us and go to the 'brunches' link.
