As the weather gets hotter, so does the CW’s summer launch.
The CW plans to have its most aggressive summer slate yet, according to Mark Pedowitiz president of The CW. The CW hopes that by increasing the hours of original programming throughout the summer, it will provide a promotional platform for a huge fall launch.
Three new reality shows will be premiering along with a game show this summer. “The Star Next Door” is a nationwide music competition produced by Queen Latifah. Queen Latifah and a couple other big name music stars go on the hunt for the next big star in the music world.
“The Breaking Point” is a behind the scenes look at the competitive world of ballet. It’s an unfiltered look into one of the most cut throat ballet companies in the country, Ballet West in Salt Lake City, Utah.
“The Catalina” follows guests and employees at a popular Miami Hotel. The new reality series centers around the young and wild staff who seem to party harder than their hotel guests.
Lastly, “Oh Sit!” is a new game show added to the new CW summer mix. The show can be described as musical chairs on steroids. Twenty thrill-seeking contestants race head to head through five obstacle courses as they each compete to claim a chair and a large cash prize at the end.
The CW has yet to release the premiere date and times for these new shows, but be on the look out for the exciting summer schedule!
