Quick Tip: Winter Tire Pressure

Updated: Wednesday, 18 Jan 2012, 3:17 PM EST

(WBDT) Dayton, OH - Every time the temp outside drops 10 degrees Fahrenheit the air pressure inside your tire goes down one or two psi's (pounds per square inch).

It's always safe to check your tire pressure frequently, but it's especially important to check them in the winter.

Full inflated tires equals better handling in snow and ice.  It's a myth that deflated tires will help with better handling and traction in the winter.  Deflated tires are unsafe and can actually hurt your car.

So every few week when you're at the gas station, check your tire pressure!
