(WBDT) Dayton, OH - Almost one year ago, Emily Szink beat out the competition to become Dayton’s first CW Star.
Szink won the “Apprentice style,” two-month long competition to become the face of the station after vying for votes, blogging, tweeting, facebooking and appearing on-air and in the community.
Throughout her stint as the CW Star she has gotten to interview some big names such as Martin Sheen, Emilio Estevez, singer Christina Perri and the popular pop group, Carolina Liar. She also got to report on the Dayton Dragons, the Reds Single-A affiliate's record breaking 815th consecutive home game sell-out.
Szink is back at it again. She has been chosen out of 22,000 applicants as a top 50 finalist in the MLB FanCave competition. Szink is hoping to secure a spot to host the MLB FanCave located in the heart of NYC, in the old Tower Records. Popular players, celebrities and musicians are already secured to visit the FanCave during the 2012 baseball season.
The job of the chosen cave dweller is to, “watch every single MLB game each day while chronicling their experiences online through videos, blogs and social media,” reports MLB.com.
The 50 finalists will soon be narrowed down to 30 and sent to Spring Training in Arizona. Emily needs your help to make it to the next round. You can watch her submission video here and vote for her as many times as you’d like until February 22nd.
For all you social media gurus out there, you can also help her out by talking her up on the MLB FanCave facebook page, following @MLBFanCave on twitter and following her through her journey @emzzzszink.
Vote now and vote often to help our CW Star have the chance to become an MLB FanCave star.
