DAYTON, OH (WBDT) -

Age: 21

Hometown: Jackson, MI but I currently reside in Dayton, OH

Reaction to finding out you are the first CW Star:
I was in pure shock. I actually didn’t realize my name had been called until all of the finalists started hugging me and yelling my name.

Where do you go to school:
I’m an Electronic Media major at the University of Dayton. I will be graduating in May!

Siblings:
I have an older sister, Jennie, who also attended UD and graduated in 2009.  She is currently living in a rural village of 1,800 people and works as a News Editor at a weekly paper.   I also have a younger brother Matt. He’s 18 and a senior in high school. He excels both academically and athletically and is going to be a Michigan State Spartan come fall.

Favorite Food:
I’m on this huge Mexican kick right now, especially nachos. I love nachos! I’m also a big health food nut, so any kind of fresh fruit always hits the spot.

Obsessions:
Diet Coke, Michigan State Basketball, Gum, Coffee, March Madness, Baked Goods and Puppies

Favorite Movie:
Garden State ... the soundtrack is out of this world.  I also have every single word of Mean Girls memorized so that’s a favorite too.

Favorite Celebrity:
More like favorite celebrities.  I’m a huge sports fanatic so I’d either have to say Blake Griffin of the L.A. Clippers, Eagles Quarterback Michael Vick or ESPN sideline reporter Erin Andrews.  I also idolize Reese Witherspoon.

Favorite Music:
I’ve grown to like almost anything. Some of my favorites are Lil Wayne, Drake, Sam Adams, Tom Petty and Rihanna. I also love supporting local Dayton artists. There is an up-and-coming rapper, Rell Road Mane, who is really trying to make a name for himself and Dayton.

One thing you can't live without:
The Internet

Favorite Local Hotspot:
I love bar hopping in the Oregon District but, you can also find me at Timothy’s Bar and Grill located on Brown St. on the weekends.

Favorite CW Show:
Either Shedding for the Wedding or Hellcats.  I’m a big Sara Rue fan and she does an awesome job hosting Shedding for the Wedding.  I’m also kinda a sucker for actor Matt Barr, so Hellcats is a fave too.

One of your biggest life lessons:
My mom has always preached to her kids “Everything happens for a reason.” I always thought it was just a way to calm us down in stressful situations, but as I’ve matured, I actually believe this to be so true and definitely live by it.

One thing you want to accomplish this year:
I get frustrated hearing people say that Dayton is dying or that there’s nothing going on around town.  All people really need to do is discover Dayton! I hope to reveal Dayton’s many offerings. From its bustling nightlife to its numerous sports teams, to the many outdoor parks and festivals, there’s always something to do.

Where do you see yourself after The CW:
My dream would be to receive a job in either the entertainment news field or as a sports sideline reporter.  But, I realize that the broadcasting field is one of the most competitive work fields and it takes a lot to get to where you want to be. So, I’d start out basically anywhere after the CW just so I can ultimately get to where I want to be.

Finish this statement, If I could do anything right now I would...:
Get a billboard in Dayton with my picture on it ... j.k.! That would be a frightening sight. I wish that I could have a guest role on the hit CW show Hellcats. The actors and actresses just look like they’d be a blast to work with! I’d have to brush up on my cheerleading skills, though.
