At just seventeen years old Claressa Shields has made Olympic history by becoming the first American woman to win gold in boxing.

Claressa was born and raised in Michigan and learned about boxing from her father at a very young age. She started her training at just eleven years old. She was the youngest boxer at the February 2012 U.S. Olympic trials.
